Gin and Lime Marmalade

Open Relationship Brandon

A delightful and zesty homemade jam, this gin and lime marmalade would be a perfect edible Christmas gift. Your friends and family will be impressed by the distinctive flavor profile that is created when tangy limes and a hint of gin are combined. Its delicious as a glaze for meats or on toast or scones.

Ingredients:

  • 6 large limes
  • 500g granulated sugar
  • 150ml gin
  • 1 packet of pectin powder

Instructions:

After washing and drying the limes, zest each one finely

Strain the lime juice into a large saucepan after juicing the limes

Pour the lime juice, granulated sugar, and gin into the saucepan

After combining all the ingredients, leave it for half an hour so the flavors can mingle

Stir thoroughly and add the pectin powder to the mixture after 30 minutes

Set the saucepan over medium heat and stir continuously as you bring the mixture to a boil

After it comes to a rolling boil, lower the heat and simmer the marmalade until it thickens and reaches the consistency you like, 15 to 20 minutes

Continue to stir from time to time

Sterilize a few jam jars and lids by washing them in hot, soapy water and then baking them for ten minutes at 120C 250F while the marmalade is simmering

Once the marmalade is prepared, generously transfer it into the sterile jars and promptly seal them

Before labeling and decorating the jars, let them cool completely

Its time to give or sip your gin and lime marmalade
